On the side of
living things.

How matter learns to remember, connect, and grow — how order and mind rise from the early universe, from the plasma soup we all came from to the mind now trying to understand it.

About

To me, love is simple: it's helping things grow. A mind growing the moment it understands. A plant growing toward the light. A person, a system, a friendship — anything alive becoming more of what it can be.

That's when I feel most alive — explaining something until it clicks, being close to nature and animals, or understanding a system until I feel part of it. It's all one motion, repeating at every scale: a cell in a body, a person in humanity, a living thing in the universe — each part joining and growing the whole it belongs to. Physics is just the name I found for the biggest rung of that ladder.

On the side of living things — helping them connect, belong, and grow.

Research

Reading the order in living and physical systems.

  • Turbulence spreading & coherent structure in plasmas Vortex and front dynamics with Prof. P. Diamond — how a coherent structure controls the spreading of turbulence (Dedalus simulations, cell-scale scans). Paper in progress. Read more →
  • Drift-wave turbulence & zonal flows in fusion plasmas Research at the Korea Institute of Fusion Energy (KFE) — modeling drift-wave turbulence with the modified Hasegawa–Mima equation, extending toward the modified Hasegawa–Wakatani system and the zonal flows that regulate it: the turbulence that governs how well a fusion plasma stays confined.
  • Physics of memory & unconventional computing Non-Markovian open quantum systems — quantifying how a system's memory, seen as information backflow, shapes its evolution — and “memcomputing,” brain-inspired machines where memory both stores and processes information, dissolving the processor–memory divide of ordinary computers.
